Mobiuz / Uzdonrobita Building
Mobiuz / Uzdonrobita Building

Located on Amir Temur Street, the building is recognisable for its original metallic sun-shading panels. It was constructed and commissioned in early 1981 for the GSPİ-2 Design Institute (State Design Institute No. 2 of the USSR Ministry of Communications), with the building’s design also developed by the same institute.

The uniquely designed sun-shading panels were manufactured at TAPOiCh.

The building underwent reconstruction in 2009–2010: the original green colour was replaced with white, though the sun-shading panels were preserved.

Over the years, it has housed various telecommunications organisations — Uzbektelecom, paging companies, and the joint venture Uzdonrobita / MTS / UMS / Mobiuz.

In June 2025, the State Assets Management Agency of Uzbekistan announced the launch of an open international privatisation process for 100% of the state share in the charter capital of the mobile operator Mobiuz (LLC Universal Mobile Systems), meaning the building may have a new owner in the future.
